How code.talks, operated by alphalist GmbH, collects and handles your personal data, in line with the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and the German Federal Data Protection Act (BDSG).

THE SHORT VERSION

We only collect the data we need to run the event and operate this website. We never sell your information. You can request access to, correction of, or deletion of your data at any time. Just email info@codetalks.com.

Purposes & legal bases

We process personal data only for clearly defined purposes and on a valid legal basis under the GDPR:

  • Log files. When you visit the site, your browser sends technical data (date, page, IP address, referrer) that we store briefly to ensure a stable, secure connection. Legal basis: Art. 6 (1) (f) GDPR.

  • Tickets & contracts. When you buy a ticket we process the data needed to fulfil the contract. Ticketing is handled by our partner doo GmbH, Hultschiner Strasse 8, 81677 Munich. Legal basis: Art. 6 (1) (a), (b) and (c) GDPR.

  • Newsletter. We use a double opt-in procedure, so you only receive emails after confirming via a link. You can unsubscribe at any time. Legal basis: Art. 6 (1) (a) GDPR.

Website optimization & analysis

To understand and improve how the site is used, we rely on cookies and analytics tools:

  • Cookies. We use session cookies, deleted after your visit, and persistent cookies that recognize your browser on return visits. You can manage or block cookies in your browser settings.

  • Google Analytics. We analyse usage through pseudonymized profiles to improve our content. Legal basis: Art. 6 (1) (f) GDPR.

  • Retargeting. We work with advertising partners to show interest-based ads. No directly identifying data is stored in these cookies.

Social plugins & payment processing

  • Social plugins. We embed plugins from Facebook and YouTube to increase reach. When active, these may transmit data to the respective providers. Legal basis: Art. 6 (1) (f) GDPR.

  • PayPal. Payment data is forwarded to PayPal (Europe) S.à r.l. et Cie, S.C.A., which may run statistical credit checks.

  • Klarna / Sofort. Direct bank transfers are processed via Sofort GmbH using your online banking credentials.

Data recipients outside the EU

Some data may be transferred to servers in the USA, for example through tracking technologies. These transfers are safeguarded by EU Standard Contractual Clauses and, where applicable, recognized adequacy frameworks.

  • Rectification : correct inaccurate data (Art. 16).

  • Erasure : be forgotten, subject to legal retention (Art. 17).

  • Object & withdraw : object to processing based on legitimate interest, and withdraw consent at any time without affecting prior lawful processing.

  • Complaint : lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority.
