ABOUT THE SPEAKER
With more than two decades of experience in distributed systems, Ivan Pedrazas has spent the last year at the forefront of the AI evolution. He is currently building the next generation of developer tooling, integrating AI agents and MCP servers to create seamless workflows between LLMs and non-deterministic production environments.
TALK
A Piece of Pi: Embedding a Coding Agent in Your Product
When people use personal agents like OpenClaw or business agents like Claude Cowork, they're amazed: these agents explore available data sources, auto-discover new capabilities, stitch components together, and dynamically build new solutions. It feels like the system is learning. It feels magical. At their core, these agents are powered by an agent harness. The essence of a harness is simple: an agent loop plus a runtime where the agent can act. The magic comes from combining a small set of primitives: composable tools, layered instructions, sessions, and lifecycle hooks. Understanding these primitives is key to designing agentic systems and embedding agents into new products. In this talk, we'll use pi.dev, the open-source agent harness used by OpenClaw, to explore how a coding agent can become part of a product. Using a quote-generation agent as a practical example, we'll examine the core building blocks and the patterns that emerged while building real agentic systems.
