Prof. Dr. Sebastian Vollmer is Professor of Applied Machine Learning at the RPTU Kaiserslautern-Landau and heads the Data Science and its Applications department at the DFKI (German Research Center for Artificial Intelligence). Previously, he conducted research at the University of Oxford and the Alan Turing Institute. Today, he develops agentic AI systems such as BioDisco, which combines knowledge graphs and large language models (LLMs) to enable autonomous hypothesis generation.
